Nima Farzaneh is an architectural designer, artist, and researcher exploring the meeting point of sound, space, and perception. Trained in architecture and now pursuing a Ph.D. at Stanford’s CCRMA, his work investigates how acoustic environments shape emotion, imagination, and the sense of self. Through immersive audio, virtual acoustics, and spatial sound, he creates experiences that blur the boundaries between the physical and the intangible. His practice moves between science and art, seeking the conditions under which sound can evoke awe, presence, and transformation.

His research explores how sound shapes spatial perception, emotion, and the experience of awe. Combining methods from acoustic simulation, virtual acoustics, and immersive audio, he studies how reverberation, spatial diffusion, and sonic complexity influence our sense of space and self. His work also engages with historical and sacred architectures—particularly in Iran and other cultural contexts—examining their acoustic qualities in relation to ritual, music, and collective experience.
